AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS (AED's)
SADS UK and its members donate AED's to schools, workplaces and gyms. It is very important to get help in the first few minutes following cardiac arrest. Having an AED readily available at the scene great improves the chances of survival.

12 LEAD ECG MACHINES
Ecg machines should already be available at all doctors surgeries. Fund holders may wish to purchase a more modern and sophisticated ecg machine to place into a doctor's surgery or other medical establishment in memory of their loved one. Modern machines allow easy on-line interpretation of the heart trace by a consultant cardiologist should a second opinion need to be sought.

24 HOUR POCKET SIZE HEART MONITOR
A resting ecg trace may detect some arrhythmias and structural defects such as cardiomyopathy but detection is best undertaken whilst under a degree of stress. It is for this reason that we feel the 24 hour pocket size heart monitor is a useful tool.  The charity donates 24 hour monitors to doctor's surgeries who use this equipment to its best advantage.
